Under the direction of the Director of Diversity and Inclusion, the Coordinator leads outreach efforts serving Colorado's Latino and Hispanic communities. Strategic efforts will focus primarily in Denver and extend to several key regions. In order to increase awareness about Alzheimer's disease and education within the Latino community, initiatives for this position include fostering key partnerships with community stakeholders, staff and volunteers, promoting awareness through media and communications and increasing usage of the Helpline within the Latino community for the purpose of providing constituent education, counseling and support.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Lead outreach planning for Colorado's Latino/Hispanic community through media cultivation and health strategy campaigns in Denver and other key regions such as Greeley, Pueblo, Colorado Springs and Boulder.
  • Establish partnerships with key stakeholders within the Latino/Hispanic community to promote education and awareness.
  • Identify and train a care and support cadre of volunteers to carry out education, support group and helpline efforts.
  • Collaborate with staff and assess regional needs for bilingual/bicultural volunteers. Work with regional directors to train local volunteers.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • Two years of experience engaging and relating  to culturally diverse clients in a professional environment
  • Experienced public speaker in both English and Spanish
  • Fully proficient verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish
  • Skill in time management and prioritization
  • Ability to travel and work evenings or weekends as needed
  • Access to reliable vehicle, valid Colorado driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office programs and ability to use a variety of software and databases
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
