Corporate Development Director-Heart Ball

We have an excellent opportunity for a Corporate Development Director-Heart Ball in our Denver, CO office. You will work closely with the Denver Heart Ball Senior Director with corporate sponsorship fundraising responsibilities, as well as assist in the management of the Denver Heart Ball Executive Team and plan and implement and evaluate several cultivation events and the local AHA events. These events bring together corporate partners, medical leaders, community leaders, and volunteers of the community to raise awareness of heart disease and stroke, the number #1 and #5 killer in America. You will have a planned net goal of $400-450K in your territory of the Denver area.

Areas of Responsibility: 

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OUTCOMES:

  • Conducting sales calls and in person meetings to generate new business and holding exploratory meeting to generate new sponsorship dollars.
  • Developing relationships with volunteers, key corporate & community leaders to drive revenue generation.
  • Year-round cultivation and stewardship of existing corporate sponsors and donors through mission education
  • Work with Sr. Director to manage several intimate cultivation events
  • Assist in recruiting and retaining leadership on the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Networking within the local area.
  • Travel approximately 75% of the time driving locally.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred
College coursework combined with related experience may be substituted for a degree
Related experience may be substituted as follows: 1 ½ years’ experience equates to 1 full time year of higher education

  • 2+ years’ of experience in a similar role in sales or fundraising. This experience may also count towards satisfying this position’s educational requirement.
  • Able to lift at least 20 lbs from the ground to waist level with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of complex meeting management.
  • Excellent verbal and written business communications skills.
  • Ability to anticipate and satisfy customer needs; to work independently and take initiative; to creatively and effectively solve problems; to meet and interact with all levels of AHA staff and volunteers and work with a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, knowledge of database programs a plus.
  • Ability to accomplish results through strong volunteer recruitment and management.
  • Proven track record in meeting sales/fundraising goals.
  • Ability to work evenings/weekends when necessary with reliable transportation.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Non-smoking environment.
