The Donor Relations Coordinator - Faith will be responsible for donor relations for a varied portfolio of Faith Donors for Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver.This position will report to the Director of Sponsorships, and will be the Habitat staff liaison to the Building on Faith volunteer committee.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Collaborate with Habitat Metro Denver senior leadership team, Resource Development team (incl. Database Administrator and Volunteer Manager), volunteers, staff and other natural partners to build and maintain meaningful and lasting relationships with Habitat stakeholders in the community.
  • Create and support a donor-centric climate for philanthropy, balanced with prioritizing needs of the organization for efficiency.
  • Interacting with donors; respond to phone calls/emails inquiring about donations, tax acknowledgement letters, or any information related to our business.
  • Contribute to effective operations by consistently documenting all donor-related activity in Raiser’s Edge for portfolio management in a timely, accurate and thorough manner.

Sponsorship & Donor Relations

  • Oversee a pipeline of over $500K annually from current Faith Coalition Donors that give at least $2,500+ annually.
  • Foster strong relationships among various constituencies to increase both volunteer participation and financial support.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive stewardship plan for donors, including both formal and informal action plans, communications around donor impact, and builds relationships to develop opportunities for further engagement.
  • Faith Coalitions
  • Empower coalition leadership to manage members and achieve goals.
  • Attend coalition events as HFHMD representative; support and engage coalitions with simple third-party fundraising opportunities; provide basic support for event logistics.
  • Communications: Streamline communication practices with faith partners and coalitions, including financial reporting and regular status updates; work with Marketing to create and maintain faith-related materials; manage Habitat-based communications platforms for coalitions, including coalition websites through www.habitatmetrodenver.org
  • Plan and oversee Habitat’s annual Faith-related events.
  • Prepare invoices, partnership agreements and gift acknowledgement letters; refresh gift acknowledgment language on a regular basis to engage, inspire, and educate donors.
  • Visit sponsors on the construction site, thank them for their support, and photograph.
  • Manage faith sponsorship-related webpages of Habitat Metro Denver’s website.
  • Serve as the liaison working with Habitat’s partner families.

Prospect Research

  • Identify and research new/renewal donor opportunities for Faith Donors.
  • Work closely with Director of Sponsorships and Sponsorship Coordinator to strategize engagement plans for new donor prospects.
Educational Background: 
BA/BS degree; One to three years’ experience in development or related field (preferred)
Skills/Experience: 
  • Highly collaborative team player who strives for excellence and works independently.
  • Ability and desire to engage in conversations with donors via phone/email/face-to-face.
  • Ability to respond accurately and thoroughly to donor inquiries.
  • Resourceful and creative problem solver; partners with team members to find solutions when unanticipated issues develop.
  • Flexibility with scheduling (some evening and weekend events.
  • Strong public speaking skills.
  • Ability to adapt to change; attention to detail, with demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential donor information with sensitivity, integrity and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel); exp. with Raiser’s Edge (preferred).
  • Experience working with committee and volunteers (preferred).
