The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Technical Writer/Editor in our Quality Systems Improvement department based out of our National Center office located in Dallas, TX!

You will be responsible for overseeing the development of Post-Acute Care program and for standardizing care and treatment of patients who suffer a stroke and need rehabilitation. This is a full time, benefits eligible grant funded position.

Please Note: This is a full time, benefits eligible position. This position is Grant Funded through March 31, 2020

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Develop and document process for writing standards of care for Post-Acute Stroke Certification.
  • Develop processes and workflows in establishment of project/grant needs and deliverables.
  • Create boilerplate templates for certification manuals, program requirements, and policies.
  • Compile, organize, and standardize program requirements and policies for AHA Post-Acute Care Certification.
  • Develop content to support communication of the availability and benefits of AHA’s new Post-Acute Care Certification standards through various means, including but not limited to AHA’s website and white papers.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • Three (3) years of technical writing experience
  • Two (2) years of experience in healthcare or in a public health-related organization: clinical, quality improvement, program development and systems improvement
  • Basic knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office used for word processing, email, presentations, and spreadsheets
