The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Resuscitation Quality Improvement Partner (RQI Partner), Finance Director located at our National Center office in Dallas, TX! The RQI Partners Finance Director is responsible for the development, implementation and support of all Financial Operations for RQI Partners, including preparation of financial statements, forecast projections, overseeing financial systems and analysis of financial performance. The person is the primary contact on financial matters with AHA and Laerdal, and for supporting the AHA as the Tax Partners in partnership.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Provision of financial advice and support for all functions in RQI Partners.
- Accurate and timely financial reporting, following the RQI Partners established financial processes and procedures and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Ensure cash collection exceeds the cash disbursement needs of the Company
- Accurate and timely tax support for the Tax Partner, and ensuring that RQI Partners meets its audit obligations
- Employees and Suppliers are paid at agreed upon times and amounts
- Evaluate the financial transaction and control system’s ability to meet its purpose. Provide regular input on redesign and needed changes to RQI Partner Management.
Essential Job Duties:
- Leads the formulation of policies, practices, and procedures that support the requirement of RQI Partners and the parent organizations and implements these practice elements within the RQI Partner organization.
- Prepares and presents the financial operations of the entity to include balance sheet and related statement of financial condition, statement of operations and statement of cash flows.
- Develops and monitors the forecast revenue and costprojections.
- Manages working capital, the start-up of new operations, capitalization and liquidations.
- Monitors cash activity for financial impact and forecasting.
- Ensures RQI Partners adheres to external financial regulatory and reporting requirements, including federal, statutory and international regulations.
- Monitors RQI Partners compliance with external accounting rules and GAAP.
- Ensures disbursements, payroll, accounts receivable/billings, fixed assets, and ongoing financial operational activities are processed with appropriate internal control oversight.
- Develops and implements internal accounting policies, procedures, practices and maintains current written documentation.
- Ensures the financial systems are in place and operating as intended to monitor the daily financial activity, general ledger and monthly/annual close process.
- Plans and prepares for the annual financial audit.
- Serves as financial liaison with the American Heart Association and Laerdal Medical Corporation.
- Participates in vendor negotiations and development of contracts.
Educational Background:
BS or BA degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance preferred or equivalent combination of education andexperience.
Skills/Experience:
- CPA certification required.
- A minimum of 5 years of finance and management experience.
- Strong expertise in accounting and reporting practices.
- Knowledge of operations of a finance department, including the management of working capital.
- Knowledge of the external financial audit process.
- Up to 10% overnight travel may be required.
