The American Heart Association has a great opportunity for a Project Coordinator – Communciations position based out of our National Center office located in Dallas, TX! This role will provide administrative and project coordination support for the Marketing Communications & Public Relations and News Media Relations teams within the National Corporate Communiations department.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Major responsibilies on behalf of their supervisors will include managing calendars, expenses, and meeting and event logistics, as needed. In addition, this role will be responsible for coordinating the media duty on-call schedule and supporting the preparation of meeting agendas for recurring internal and external team needs, inclusive of taking minutes.They will often be charged with handling sensitve and confidential information related to the staff of senior members of the team.
- Major responsibilities on behalf of the teams will include: managing the legal and procurment review processes for supplier agrements, answering/triaging media calls (shared responsibility), coordinating the intra-dept abstract selection process, creating and maintaining metric reports (media coverage reporting) for various initiatives, monthly budget reconciliation and processing of POs and invoices.
- Administrative support for two Vice Presidents and other senior team members
- Project coordination support for various initiatives including metric/media reporting
- Budget tracking and management of supplier legal and procurement processes
Educational Background:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Skills/Experience:
- At least six months of relevant experience
- Knowledge of business administration, office procedures and communication etiquette
- Knowledge of business English, spelling, grammar, and punctuation
- Strong oral and written communications, including routine business correspond
- Skills in operating a keyboard and utilizing word processing, Word, PowerPoint, Excel programs and typical office equipment (i.e. copier, printer, PC)
- Ability to prioritize work assignment and work independently
- Ability to work in a team environment and interact with staff, volunteers and public (both individually and in groups)
Preferred Skills:
- Some College
- Familiarity with public relations/media relations
- Knowledge of Cision or simliar media tracking software
