Program Manager, HPV Cancer Free

Responsible for establishing an online & webinar-based HPV vaccination education program focused on two audiences, primary care providers and community health workers as part of the comprehensive HPV Cancer Free Texas Campaign.  This is a unique position that launch and oversee an HPV vaccination focused Project ECHO Hub, serving as a virtual health education platform. The Manager will recruit and retain primary care providers from 26 counties in north Texas to participate in a structured HPV vaccination program using the ECHO clinic model. Similarly, the Manager will help develop a Project Echo based HPV vaccination education and community mobilization program for certified community health workers.

These programs will include support to providers and community health workers to increase provider recommendation and mobilize parents to vaccinate their children. Responsibilities include establishing collaborative relationships with private practice pediatric providers, community health workers and associated networks.  The manager will ensure all credentialing and continuing education credits associated with the training program are administered on behalf of the participants. In addition, efforts to promote the HPV Cancer Free Campaign will be integrated into the work of the manager. Coordination and gathering of education program related data and other evaluation duties will be completed by this Program Manager.  

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Establishes, manages and monitors Project ECHO hub for the HPV Cancer Free Texas project including all associated technology and equipment.
  • In coordination with Sr Program Manager develops comprehensive training and support model for participating providers and community health workers.
  • Recruits, motivates and trains community health workers and private practice providers using customized HPV vaccination education and intervention program.
  • Integrates work with health systems work executed by other internal staff involved in HPV Cancer Free Texas Campaign.
  • Communicates effectively with regional cancer control and global headquarters staff engaged in project deliverables.
  • Implements necessary ECHO education & technical assistance evaluation plan.
  • Monitors progress against objectives; adjusts plans and manages contingency efforts and resources as required.
  • Gathers data and completes reports; ensures overall compliance of program efforts with project funding milestones.
  • Mobilize participants to activate Campaign through community, and primary care systems that will drive practices that facilitate vaccination uptake.
  • Represents HPV Cancer Free Texas program at HPV coalition meetings, other state and national meetings as required.
  • Assesses risks, issues, and opportunities; innovates and leverages best practices.
  • Develops and leverages relationships within and across constituencies, identifying opportunities to improve impact and results.
  • Monitors participant evaluation of programs to maximize satisfaction and increase relevancy.
  • Oversees the identification new community resources to enhance program.
  • Leads by example and provides a clear vision of organizational direction and success.
  • Compliance with ACS policies, including employment, risk management, and financial controls.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience;
Skills/Experience: 
  • Two to three years of experience in program and/or team management.
  • Experience in community health and community mobilization.
  • Knowledge of credentialing process for community health workers in Texas.
  • Effective health educator with experience promoting public health topics, vaccination preferred.
  • Skilled in training health professionals at various professional levels
  • Able to cultivate relationships with targeted providers/organizations and diverse populations to create sense of urgency related to awareness HPV vaccination as cancer prevention and motivate to action.
  • Ability to represent the Society effectively to community including private practice primary care providers and community health workers and affiliated networks.
  • Outcome driven with proven experience in community-based program and project planning, implementation, and management. Strong market, community and constituent perspective.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to proactively monitor and adjust activities to respond to changing circumstances and priorities to meet goals.
  • Ability to analyze and appropriately integrate information from relevant sources.
  • Demonstrated success managing and motivating diverse groups and individuals using collaborative leadership, management, coaching and development best practices.
  • Able to work through others to accomplish goals.
  • Sales experience required; selling of an intangible preferred.   

SPECIALIZED TRAINING OR KNOWLEDGE:

  • Certified community health worker or community health worker instructor, preferred
  • Knowledge of provider education methods and accreditation
  • Project ECHO or technical experience providing health education in virtual environments
  • Bilingual or bilingual knowledge in Spanish, a plus
  • Cultural competence and proven experience working with diverse audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
