The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Product Manager in our Emergency Cardiovascular Care, International department based out of our National Center office located in Dallas, TX!

The International Product Manager is responsible for leading the development of foreign language versions of lifesaving CPR, first aid, and other global healthcare learning programs and clinical products produced by the Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) department. This position provides direction for the translation, localization, quality standards, development, revision, fiscal management, and quality standards for assigned products through (1) leading the development and localization of products from start to finish; (2) working with project management to develop project plans, proposals, and procedures; (3) collaborating with AHA staff, vendors, and volunteers; (4) financial oversight and budget adherence; and (5) ongoing evaluation and revisions for the life of the language portfolio.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Leads project teams in the localization of content, portfolios, and products. Ensures project team’s adherence to a general product development process used across the department, and develops sub-processes for project-specific tasks as needed
  • Manages adherence to product, language, and content-specific style guides for internal and external use. Ensuring that translated materials meet AHA standards for accuracy before publication - Maintaining product, language, and content-specific style guides for internal and external use
  • Partners with a project manager to develop project scope and timelines. Ensures all internal and external team members meet standards and deadlines outlined in project plans
  • Coordinates and collaborates with the Science & Medicine Advisor, the designated foreign scientific authority, and the core product team to achieve Scientific signoff of major localization recommendations. Review and triage localization recommendations from the field
  • Develop integrated working relationships with AHA staff and volunteers involved in the core content development to produce more globalized content, and a smooth hand-over of materials for localization
  • Forms productive partnerships with team members and stakeholders at all levels. Effectively uses informal authority to direct, influence, and motivate others. Earns respect of team members based on demonstrated expertise and leadership. Solicits and acts on feedback to improve relationships and mission impact. Proactively collaborates across project teams to ensure products efficacy and consistency. 
  • Trains, motivates, and engages volunteer and paid subject matter experts. Effectively assesses and leverages volunteer skill sets and interests by developing and utilizing volunteer roles in meaningful ways
  • Monitors budgets and contracts for adherence to approved scope for assigned projects
  • Contributes to departmental goals of maximizing processes and product specifications for rapid content updates
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience working in a multi-language/multi-cultural, or international environment
  • Foreign-language facility or fluency highly desired (especially in Japanese, Portuguese, Italian, Arabic, or Chinese)
  • Knowledge of linguistic and translation concepts and tools (localization, Translation Memory)
  • Knowledge of current resuscitation/cardiovascular care concepts, working knowledge of US and/or foreign healthcare systems and products, or healthcare background a plus
