The American Heart Association has an excellent job opportunity for a Procurement Specialist-Information Technology role in our National headquarters office based in Dallas, TX.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading contract activity with Information Technology (IT) vendors. Responsible for implementing standard procedures for agreements in compliance with Legal Department policies and guidelines for purchasing, contract development and vendor management. Also, responsible for performing spend analysis, obtaining stakeholder buy-in, developing and managing the request for proposal process, and managing supplier selection and adherence to service level agreements.
- Lead the contract process with Information Technology (IT) vendors to ensure project scope is fully defined and that terms and conditions comply with appropriate regulations and corporate policies
- Review contracts with internal stakeholders to ensure pricing models, usage, and service levels are current and optimized and that the vendor adheres to all terms and conditions.
- Develop recommendations for supplier management decisions through analysis of reports and supplier spend tracking. Look for opportunities to optimize vendor spend and value by combining, terminating or extending contracts according to business objectives.
- Serve as point of contact as needed for communication with Legal and business teams for resolution of vendor contract issues and requirements.
- Perform sourcing activities to optimize the IT supply base and realize cost savings.
- Provide guidance to internal staff on procurement/legal policies and procedures; train and develop business unit staff to submit contract requests and required documentation
- Five (5) years of experience in leading and negotiating complex IT procurement and working all phases of the contractual life cycle
- Five (5) years of experience drafting and negotiating IT related contracts, overseeing multiple projects simultaneously and collaborating with internal stakeholders and suppliers
- Five (5) years of experience in leading and coordinating all phases of the sourcing process for a variety of IT services and goods
- Ability to write or draft contract terms and conditions that range from standard agreements to multi-level complex services
- Proficient computer skills including use of MS Office, SharePoint, JD Edwards and contract management systems
Preferred Qualification:
- Professional certification such as C.P.M., C.P.S.M, C.P.C.M. or other certification related to the field of purchasing or contract management.
