We are seeking enthusiastic, dedicated, and passionate team members to make a difference by working as an MSABC Digital Specialist for the Society’s annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (MSABC) walk. Building a customer-centric culture is vital for the American Cancer Society to grow its relevance, revenue, and ultimately have the greatest impact on our mission.

In this role you will identify and engage leads through a variety of Social Media and digital channels.

This position will last approximately 22 weeks, beginning in June and supporting MSABC events through October 2019.  

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Recruit, steward and prospect for MSABC Team Leaders to fundraise and participate in the annual MSABC event through digital tactics
  • Raise awareness, increase donations, acquire new supporters, increase supporter engagement, retention, and participation via social media channels and digital tactics n alignment with American Cancer Society digital and social media strategies, develop a local marketing strategy to build a stronger social media presence for the Making Strides event.  
  • Develop editorial calendar and content for event-specific MSABC channels that meet American Cancer Society brand guidelines.
  • Utilize American Cancer Society brand messaging to help tell the American Cancer Society’s story through MSABC social media channels
  • In collaboration with the Marketing Director, Identify and engage with key online influencers to help increase awareness of the American Cancer Society and Making Strides. Monitor all event-specific MSABC social media channels and respond to constituents appropriately. (responding to comments, questions or other interactions).
  • Identify and cultivate leads generated through digital acquisition process both through the ACS led process and through local efforts
  • Coordinate with the staff or volunteers to promote fundraisers on social media. Support outreach efforts for engaging past and potential event participants leading up to the Kick off event.
  • Accurately track cultivation activities and fundraising progress using Salesforce
  • Able to quickly build rapport between ACS and the MSABC Team Leaders and constituents through digital tactics use and promote our digital fundraising best practices with Team Leaders/other participants to increase their fundraising efforts
  • Provide Team Leaders and other participants with logistical support and training on fundraising strategies and tools including online and social media components
  • May include additional responsibilities as assigned
  • Be able to work 19 hours per week
  • Availability to work a set schedule between the hours of 9:00 am - 5 pm:  Monday – Friday (limited evening work may be required throughout the project)
Skills/Experience: 
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Must maintain an excellent attendance record during this project
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, persuasion and motivation skills
  • Demonstrated experience with providing high-level customer service
  • Prior experience working with volunteers a plus
  • Able to communicate accurately and effectively using email or messaging systems
  • Experience with social media & web site navigation including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn with a focus on significant reach as well as a 10% engagement rate.
  • A built-out LinkedIn profile is a plus
  • Accurate data entry skills, proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, database and spreadsheet management, email software, and internet browsers
  • Possess and exhibit a professional, outgoing, friendly positive demeanor
  • Focused, organized, and detail oriented• Ability/willingness to learn and apply new skills quickly
  • Employ discretion, tact, and empathy; pro-active and intuitive people skills
  • Previous outbound sales call, community outreach, customer service and/or marketing industry experience
  • Previous success with account management and/or corporate relationship management
  • Non-profit/Fundraising experience a plus
  • Non-Smoker, Non-Tobacco User
