The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA) has a great opportunity for a Mission Advancement Specialist in the (Dallas, Texas) area!

This individual will be responsible for managing administration, donor communication, and Customer Relationship Management database (I.e. - Blackbaud, Microsoft Dynamics) for the assigned development team. Responsible for maintaining professionalism and collegiality in support of the team, managing conflict free calendar and travel for the National Team Leader, processing invoices and expenses, and assisting donors and potential donors.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provides administrative support to Corporate Relations team which may include scheduling and travel arrangements, event participation, team meetings, professional development workshops or related planning and logistics
  • Acts as a customer database super user to develop and distribute pipeline movement and management updates. Audits data for accuracy and integrity for assigned division and serves as liaison to Mission Advancement prospect operations
  • Organize and manage national and international congress strategy and attendance for Corporate Relations including calendar management, meeting preparations and briefings, logistical support and on-site duties when needed
  • Coordinates internal and external donor meetings with the highest level of professionalism and communication techniques
  • Conducts research on prospective current and prospective funders and gathers information for Corporate Relations Directors
  • Records Funder plans and activity in customer database as needed
  • Provides leadership division specific financial updates, contract monitoring, and business intelligence
  • Formats and prepares proposals, solicitation letters, reports, presentations, correspondence or face-to-face meeting support materials
  • Develops understanding and knowledge of AHA Mission and goals to effectively communicate with donors
  • Participates in Mission Advancement team projects and initiatives as requested
Educational Background: 
High school diploma or equivalent
Skills/Experience: 
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of work-related experience
  • Experience providing administrative support for development teams in a nonprofit, hospital, research or academic institution
  • Experience working with high net worth donors
  • Ability to initiate support and collaborate with all levels of staff, prospects, volunteers and donors
  • Comprehensive ability to prepare written communications and orally present information to a variety of audiences or individuals
