The Ameican Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Mission Advancement Specialist based out of our National Center office located in Dallas, TX! This individual will be responsible for managing administration, donor communications, society member materials and donor relationship management as appropriate for the National Giving Societies team and other key Mission Advancement leads. Responsible for maintaining professionalism and collegiality in support of the team, managing conflict free calendar and travel for the National Executive Lead of Giving Societies and Senior Vice President of Individual Giving for Mission Advancement, processing invoices and expenses, and assisting donors and potential donors.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provides administrative support to a National Executive Lead(s) and corresponding team which may include scheduling and processing travel and expenses, calendar and event participation, team meetings, professional development workshops or related planning and logistics
  • Partners with National Giving Societies team to help drive national society reports, member communications, materials ordering & warehouse management and oversee the Giving Societies team budget
  • Manages Mission Advancement donor guest lists, especially related to national events (Sessions, ISC, RDC)
  • Coordinates with Operations team as needed to help drive data accuracy in donor mailings and communications as appropriate
  • Coordinates internal and external donor meetings with the highest level of professionalism and communication techniques
  • Leads special projects as identified by the National Executive Lead of Giving Societies
  • As needed, formats proposals, presentations, correspondence or face-to-face meeting support
  • Develops understanding and knowledge of AHA Mission and goals to effectively communicate with donors
  • Participates in Mission Advancement team projects and initiatives as requested
Educational Background: 
High school diploma or equivalent
Skills/Experience: 
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of work-related experience
  • Experience providing administrative support for development teams in a nonprofit, hospital, research or academic institution
  • Experience working with high net worth donors
  • Ability to travel up to 10% local and overnight stay
