Digital Graphic Designer

The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Digital Graphic Designer based out of our National Center office located in Dallas, TX!

This individual will be responsible for helping maintain heart.org using an array of graphic and digital design software such as, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint, knowledge of HTML). Also possesses knowledge of techniques and tools to design and produce high quality web pages as well as slide graphics, posters and other print materials to meet the educational and promotional needs of the various AHA departments.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Interpret client and art director needs and expresses those needs and goals in graphic form (web or print)
  • Provides digital and graphic artistry with application of contemporary trends and technologies in layout, design and production of text and graphics for both print and digital products
  • Designs and creates professional-quality graphics for brochures, posters, print materials, slide graphics and websites using the various programs mentioned to meet organization's educational and promotional needs
  • Maintains and fosters relationships with internal clients to keep existing clients happy as well as garner new client relationships/business
  • Produces a consistent visual image on the website as well as maintenance of templates and image archives
  • Maintains a daily timesheet and fully utilizes project management software so that billing is captured accurately
  • Attends regular web content meetings to meet the design needs of the content team
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least two (2) years of relevant experience
  • Digital and print graphic art production-related experience in a creative environment
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact and foster relationships with multiple levels of staff within the organization
  • Ability to manage own workload
  • Knowledge of HTML and uploading pages to websites
  • Able to troubleshoot and identify bugs in HTML coding
  • Microsoft Office (excel, word)
