The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Field Resourcesposition based out of our National Center office located in Dallas, TX .! This individual will be responsible for creating resources to help AHA field and national staff increase their business literacy and become more confident in their ability to articulate AHA’s strategy, messages and mission to internal and external customers. Responsible for helping build a national resource center to drive to outcomes using innovative and contemporary approaches to creating tools, resources, infographics, tips, communications, videos and other items. Responsible for collaborating with staff from various functions to achieve results across health, revenue and volunteerism goals for the organization. Also, responsible for understanding and responding to the needs of front-line staff to ensure that the center’s work is relevant, responsive and successful.
- Provide consultation, strategies and guidance to staff creating resources to make sure they are easy to understand, with field friendly language and design. Create resources that help staff increase business literacy using innovative and contemporary approaches. Drive consistency in messaging and help ensure staff can passionately articulate the messages with confidence
- Develop and implement external programs to recognize volunteers, staff and external partners/individuals for helping to drive results around health impact, revenue, volunteerism and ultimately improved cardiovascular health. Assist with internal recognition program development, communication and staff understanding of these programs including innovative ways to promote nominations and awardees
- Partner with HeartU, national departments, affiliates, market consultants and event leads to execute critical training programs for staff in key areas such as the new approach to communicating through the Impact & Need lens, as well as real-time solutions throughout the year
- Work to execute and evolve existing recognition programs such as Gold Standard Boards and 5 Star Companies, sharing best practices, key learnings and insights. Work with market consultants and SVPs to ensure staff are motivated to work cross-divisionally in their markets to expand relationships with top 25 companies and be recognized for this work. Assist with GSB trainings and provide excellent customer service to the field with timely responses to answers in connection with the metro market consulting team
- Strive to understand the needs of front-line staff to ensure the center's work is relevant and impactful. Work with team to determine success measures, monitor impact of resources and strategies and source ideas that will help accelerate progress on revenue and mission initiatives. Help to identify gaps and problem solve through solutions. Serve as a resource for the field to help them find information and gather input on tools from the resource center
- Generate, write and distribute content for internal newsletter, Chalkboard. Chalkboard is designed to help all staff increase their business literacy and create a culture of continuous learning throughout the organization. Work cross functionally with subject matter experts and science review committee as appropriate
- Enlist “scribblers” to enhance employee engagement. Complete email marketing platform training. Promote Chalkboard, the Resource Center site and resources to drive utilization, measured by open rates, click throughs, site traffic, staff and management feedback, surveys and focus groups
- At least five (5) years of relevant experience
- Experience creating, executing and managing internal and/or external recognition programs and awards
- Demonstrated track record of building effective relationships and working collaboratively with diverse internal partners across a large complex organization with multiple decision makers
- Strong communicator and team player; experienced in working with internal audiences and stakeholders
- Excellence in time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage several projects at a time with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to travel 25% local and overnight stay
Preferred Experience:
- Graphic design experience creating compelling infographics using Adobe Creative Suite and InDesign or other software. Video and podcast skills are a plus including storyboard, script, edit and creative approaches to capture attention.
- Experience executing training programs for staff in key areas such as sales training is a plus
