The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Collections Specialist in our Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) department based out of National Center office located in Dallas, TX! This individual will be responsible for conducting and improving the collections process in collaboration with AHA Finance. Responsible for serving as the collection’s liaison with third party Fulfillment Service Provider. Responsible for collections of outstanding accounts receivable dollars from the existing client base and all other aspects of collections, resolving customer billing problems and reducing accounts receivable delinquency, while exhibiting professionalism and trustworthiness.
- Performs and improves on the collections process for ECC Distribution customers.Acts as liaison between AHA Finance and the AHA fulfillment service provider
- Reviews and monitors assigned accounts and all applicable collection reports for collection efforts
- Resolves client-billing problems and rescues accounts receivable delinquency, applying good customer service in a timely manner. Identifies issues attributing to account delinquency and discusses them with management
- Makes required outbound collection calls and emails in a professional manner while keeping and improving customer relations. Works with FSP vendor to collect customer payments in accordance with payment due dates. Provides timely follow-up on payment arrangements.
- Builds and submits required government and other organization customer compliance reports to ensure prompt payment
- Handles requests for bids and assists with quote documents
- Assists AHA finance with processing credit applications as necessary
- Two (2) years of corporate collections experience including interaction with a large customer base
- Strong communication, problem solving, negotiating and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Access
- Must have attention to detail with an eye for accuracy
- Creative, self-disciplined and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) year of JD Edwards E1 or other financial system experience
- One (1) year of Netsuite or related experience
