Associate Marketing Manager - Community Markets

The American Heart Association (AHA) has an outstanding opportunity for an Associate Marketing Manager to support our Community Markets team within Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) department based outof National Center office located in Dallas, TX! The ECC Associate Marketing Manager (AMM) for Community Markets and Programs will work collaboratively with the Community Markets team to support and execute the annual marketing plan. The Associate Marketing Manager will gain broad exposure to all functional activities for ECC, including Product Development, Advertising, Promotion, New Products, Sales, Distribution, and Finance. The ability to work independently, be creative, and work in cross-functional teams is essential. Other responsibilities will include:

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Assist Community Markets team in management of assigned products and programs to ensure the vitality of the portfolio. The AMM will serve as the liaison to marketing, field operations, product development and the supply chain
  • Support development process for all products including product announcements, catalogs and selected trade show initiatives opportunities. Assist in management and communications of new product launches
  • Develop and execute promotions and surveys in conjunction with Community Markets team, vendors, staff and volunteers
  • Accurately use a variety of data sources to analyze and communicate relevant business situations, sales trends and proactively recognize, evaluate, and address key business issues, drivers and growth opportunities.
  • Maintain database of current marketing analytics and their effectiveness related to ROI. Additionally, work with team to develop more efficient and effective data collection tools to drive sales growth and health impact analysis. Develop and maintain competitive intelligence folio for key product categories. Obtain, organize, and analyze information on competitive pricing, promotions, products, and distribution. Develop process and timeline for regular competitive product comparison analysis. Develop SWOT for key competitors
  • Assist in writing marketing copy (flyers, ads, descriptions, program insertions) and implementation materials
  • Prepare product announcements, FAQs for hand off to Communications Mgr.
  • Assist Community Markets team with logistics, coordination and implementation of all programs, events and product launches
  • Develop and maintain repository of community-based programs, funding opportunities, personal stories, media hits, and videos/photos for future use in product promotion
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree
Skills/Experience: 
  • Two (2) plus years of marketing experience
  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated aptitude to utilize trend analysis, research and other sources to turn data and information into actionable information
  • Familiarity with social media and emerging trends in communications.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of project management
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, including those needed in writing, editing, and conversing by telephone and in meetings
  • Demonstrated skill in operating a PC, using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Publisher
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments, be flexible in scheduling tasks, and manage time effectively
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals inside and outside of the Association (e.g. staff, volunteers, community members)
  • Candidate must have ability to travel (both day trip and overnight)
