The American Heart Association (AHA) has a great opportunity for an Account Specialist located at our National Engagement Center office based out of Richardson, TX!

The Account Specialist represents the AHA ECC (Emergency Cardiovascular Care) programs as an inside sales specialist focused on account maintenance and increasing capacity of the AHA training network, which includes training centers, training sites and other identified training entities. In this role, the Account Specialist supports and contributes to the overall revenue goal of the ECC Field Team (approximately $89 million) as well as manages working with the aligned Training Centers within their territory. Independently generates sales by marketing AHA products, negotiating and interfacing with customers that will incorporate ECC Programs into their customer strategies and sales plans. Each Account Specialist will report to a Sr. Account Specialist and will work with key account managers within a geographic region. The role will be focused on inside sales and will include but not be limited to setting appointments, management by phone of smaller accounts and increasing revenue from those accounts, cold calling to support the sales and account management efforts of the aligned key account managers.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Manage Training Center accounts, which includes ECC accounts with growth potential by focusing on outbound calls to cultivate ongoing customer relationship and increase revenue from these accounts
  • Develop and manage lead generation from national conferences and marketing initiatives
  • Work with key decisions makers within aligned accounts to integrate AHA products into overall portfolio of products and services. Assist in creating sales tactics, customer value propositions, product launch plans and marketing plans for assigned sales territory
  • Enter/maintain primary data points in the customer management system (CRM)
  • Conduct quality training consultations with assigned Training Centers as identified to ensure compliance with AHA standards of training, consistent with our policies, regulations and focus on gold-standard training
  • Work with inbound inquiries on the front end as related to Training Center applications by vetting the customer through the initial process to determine appropriate fit. These would include incoming calls from Customer Service, directly to Account Specialists, as well as working inquiries coming from Key Account Managers
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree o r equivalent work experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least three years’ experience in sales/marketing of products and programs to healthcare systems and/or corporations and/or government agencies (including inside sales)
  • Knowledge of ECC products, policies and procedures or similar program/products from external to the AHA
  • Excellent presentation skills, including development of presentations
  • Skilled in written and oral communications, knowledge of business English, spelling, grammar and punctuation
  • Computer experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office™ products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook) or proficiency with similar products
  • Ability to prioritize projects, meet multiple deadlines and handle several large projects simultaneously
  • Advanced problem solving and use of negotiation, and consultative sales; ability to work in a collaborative work environment

Preferred Experience

  • At least three years inside sales
