The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for an Sr Digital Developer (.net) in our Business Technology departmentlocated at ourNational Center office located in Dallas, TX 

Areas of Responsibility: 

This senior level position will support existing websites and web based applications as well as create solutions for the AHA public web properties space and for internal AHA staff use. Working with project managers, subject matter experts, and other Business Technology professionals, this position will write software using Microsoft tools such as Visual Studio, C# and write web applications on the front-end layer using modern web tools such as HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS3, and related technologies. This position will also apply skills in responsive web design & best practices in usability and web accessibility. In addition, this position will assist in incident troubleshooting, resolving, ticket triaging/escalation for our web properties.

The ideal individuals are experienced with working in remote based development positions. So, it is key that you will be able to work with a team fluidly via email and other online communication channels. Being able to communicate effectively and accurately estimate and hit project goals or service level agreements are essential. Essential Job Duties:

  • Develop software artifacts based on requirements, solution architecture, application architecture, and development standards.
  • Maintain, Design, and Develop Microsoft ASP.NET based web applications.
  • Test developed software in unit and integrated testing cycles. Support user acceptance testing and defect remediation.
  • Handle incoming tickets and defects including preliminary debugging, triaging, escalating and communicating back to customers on status of the tickets.
  • Support the clarification and refinement of business requirements.
  • Provide estimations based on requirements and functional specs.
  • Provide coordination, production, and project support.
Educational Background: 
A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is preferred but equivalent experience is acceptable.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in/with:
  • software development using Microsoft .Net full-stack and related technologies.
  • web development technologies: HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, JSON, XML and C# programming language use.
  • with REST Web API, ASP.NET MVC 5, and ASP.NET Entity Framework.
  • Minimum 2 year experience with:
  • SQL Server database development including Transact-SQL and table design.
  • writing Stored Procedures.
  • Experience with ticketing systems.
  • Experience in troubleshooting web applications defects, debugging with in-browser tools.
  • Experience with Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS) or similar project tracking tools.
  • Customer service minded with excellent communication skills
  • Solutions oriented with good problem-solving skills

Here are some of the preferred skills we are looking for:

  • Understanding of Content Management Systems
  • Sitecore CMS development and admin experience is a plus
  • Experience with Azure platform
  • Angular or another JavaScript framework experience is a plus
  • Experience working with identity management solutions (SSO)
