The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with the Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) team located in our Dallas, TX office! The Project Manager is responsible for driving the successful completion of assigned projects by assisting teams in initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and close of assigned projects. As a project manager you will work collaboratively with the Product Manager, Market Leader, and other assigned team members to drive deliverables so that the product is delivered on time, to the specified cost, and quality and performance as proposed .
Areas of Responsibility:
- Performs regular project management duties, including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing assigned projects as needed and assigned.
- Provides updates to ECC staff, consultants, and volunteers on the status of projects on the project management team.
- Works collaboratively with internal and external staff, management, volunteers, and consultants for assigned projects.
- In cooperation with colleagues and staff, prepares project plans to include: defined scope, deliverables, schedules, status reports and other documentation needs.
- Experience with course material development.
- Experience following the ADDIE Model related to training and development.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s Degree
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of 2+ years project management or equivalent experience, with the ability to plan and monitor projects from inception through completion.
- Knowledge of assessing and controlling risk (or Risk Management ).
- Must be able to track a project’s progress, report on the progress, and then analyze the results based on the resulting facts.
- Effectively forecast future trends in a project.
- Identify, manage and control unnecessary changes.
- Ability to effectively communicate progress and findings to stakeholders .
- Ability to identify issues and provide options and solutions for resolution to key stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize work assignments, meet multiple deadlines, and manage numerous projects simultaneously.
- Understanding of group facilitation and meeting management.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including relationship building.
- Functional multi-program computer skills; strong project management tools skills.
- Skills in effective oral and written communications.
- Ability to travel up to 15% of work time and to work evening and weekends as needed.
- Effective, decisive decision-making skills.
- Strong desire to build consensus among staff and volunteers.
