The American Heart Association has a great opportunity for Data Quality Coordinator in our Emergency Cardiovascular Care department! This individual will be responsible for identifying, verifying and correcting data from source documents. Responsible for combining, organizing or rearranging data where required into prescribed computer databases or files, as well as, checking completed work and reports for accuracy. Responsible for storing and maintaining documentation of activities and processes, responding to requests for information, and complying with data integrity and security policies.

Essential Job Duties

  • Maintains, monitors, and verifies the accuracy of data in applicable systems to support the daily/weekly/monthly data gathering, cleansing, loading of data sets to the ECC Sales database
  • Enters data from source documentation into prescribed databases and files
  • Resolves data quality issues (including identification of gaps in data collection, data integrity, and data security and compliance with applicable rules and regulations) across applications and participation in the implementation of appropriate corrective actions to enable successful data management and reporting
  • Responds to business requests to run reports
  • Creates and maintains data processing documentation and related training materials
  • Organizes, schedules and distributes reports and data sets for business users to easily locate needed or requested information

Required Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years data entry and data quality experience
  • Two (2) years of experience troubleshooting and correcting data quality
  • Two (2) years of experience designing and generating reports from databases
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables required)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with SQL
  • Understanding of data models
  • Exposure to Tableau or other Data Visualization Tools
  • Familiarity with SharePoint
