With year-round activities and events, the Community Engagement and Development Support Manager is responsible for working with staff, volunteers, and community members to support established development goals for constituent events. This position works closely with the Director of Constituent Events to assist the constituent event staff with fundraising activities including Walk to End Alzheimer's, The Longest Day and RivAlz that take place within the chapters fourteen county area. Priority roles with each event include increasing revenue and mobilizing volunteers in each community.
This position will be based in Columbus, OH and reports to the Director of Constituent Events.
Community engagement:
- Manage and develop student volunteer/internship programs
- Manage third-party volunteer relationships including but not limited to BESA & Columbus Gives Back
- Coordinate all aspects of office volunteers for development staff
- Manage our volunteer platform, VolunteerHub for development needs
- Attend open houses and top team events
- Meeting assistance: ordering food, printing materials, setting up the room and assisting in creating presentations
Development support:
- Pull weekly reports for committees
- Research our 14 county region to identify and support growth in all areas
- Ensure the management of event websites, including participant and donor online accounts; assisting with participant communications, questions and adjustments
- Help with the Walk FB Group and Instagram in regards to the Walk to End Alzheimer's
- Support planning for all Walk to End Alzheimer's events
- Oversee the execution of incentive plans for signature events, content for newsletter and participant mailings, or other related event activities
- Run reports and merge files for labels and mailings as requested/needed
- Work closely to assist our volunteer committees that lead all our signature events
- Serve as a strategic partner in the growth of our constituent events
- Ability to promote the Chapter's programs and events to a variety of audiences, including corporate management, individual participants and volunteers
- 3-5 years of fundraising experience in a non-profit setting, preferably in a staff role
- Demonstrated successful fundraising and event planning management
- Demonstrated expertise recruiting and managing volunteers
- Demonstrated skills in community organization, relationship building and leadership development
- Strong customer service focus to deal with a variety of personalities in a positive manner.
- Must be able to work with others to accomplish goals
- Proficient in Microsoft and Google applications, with emphasis on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with various database software
- Ability to identify and safeguard confidential information
- Ability to work with diverse communities and demonstrate inclusion
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to travel extensively within Chapter territory
- Must possess valid driver's license, good driving record, access to reliable vehicle and proof of automobile insurance
