SENIOR PROGRAM OFFICER – HUMANITARIAN EMERGENCY AFFAIRS (HEA)
Location: Based in Colombo with ability to travel 40% of the work time
Job Profile
Under the direction of the HEA Manager, the position will play a key role in mobilizing resources and liaising with support offices/other multi-lateral & bi-lateral donors & relevant stakeholders both internal & external to secure funding and technical expertise in achieving the strategic goals & objectives of WVL-HEA operations. He/She will support the HEA Department, in the development of high quality proposals/concepts, planning and monitoring of WVL relief, recovery and rehabilitation project in line with WV/Donor policies, procedures and grant agreements & guidelines. The position will also support the Area Programs/Area Development Programs & other disaster prone areas in resource mobilization in times of Humanitarian Emergency Responses across the country.
Key Responsibilities:
Research, identify, pursue & secure new funding opportunities/partnerships to support the WVL Humanitarian Emergency Affairs (HEA) strategy & related projects/programs. Masters preferred
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences or equivalent with knowledge in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) & field level experience in relief, rehabilitation and development/emergency response program operations.
