Working under direct supervision of the Senior Manager – Corporate Partnerships and Local Fund Raising, the National Resource Development (NRD) Coordinator will manage all local fund raising initiatives, campaigns, and events raising WVL’s profile with schools, churches, high-net-worth individuals, etc. The NRD Coordinator will help to create and implement the strategic-development plan that will allow WVL to continue to cultivate, diversify and grow its local donor network.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Develop and execute a national resource development plan for World Vision Lanka(WVL) & help raise the organizational profile with potential donors, individuals /partners for national resource development
  • Conceptualize & roll-out appropriate fund-raising campaigns & events to secure regular & diversified donors across diverse sectors to support WVL programs across the country
  • Pursue national resource development opportunities/relationship building with Schools, churches, individual donors & like-minded partners with a view to expanding the donor networks/resource base of WVL
  • Develop & maintain a database of current/past donors, potential donors, events, campaigns & activities & related initiatives to preserve & capture relevant information/knowledge & experiences for institutional memory & knowledge management.
  • Engage with the operations staff & project teams in developing systemic process to identify & capture needs of the Area Development Program/Area Programs & develop key messaging, concepts for donor proposal development & donor diversification to strengthen WVL national resource base.
  • Regular reporting on local fund raising initiatives/activities & performance updates across the sectors for effective information management
  • Contribute to achieving set goals/objectives of the partnerships team as deemed necessary
Educational Background: 
Degree / Diploma in Marketing or other relevant discipline
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least 03 years’ experience working in a similar field or developmental context
  • Excellent proposal writing and presentation skills
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong IT skills and extensive knowledge in MS Office tools
  • Knowledge of the political, humanitarian and development context in Sri Lanka
  • Critical, creative and innovative thinking and facilitation skills
  • Ability to build relationships and network effectively
  • Strong track record of developing and implementing strategies to secure and diversify funding sources
  • Excellent English communication skills (oral and written)
  • Fluency in Tamil/Sinhalese an added advantage
  • Experience in resource development and local fund raising preferred
  • Includes internal travel and possibly international travel
  • Ability to work well in a cross-cultural environment
