The position will be responsible for ensuring World Vision Lanka’s (WVL)vehicle fleet is managed and maintained to support operations in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible. This would entail secondary managing of the overall vehicle fleet and group of drivers in the National office, Field Offices and Projects ensuring effective and timely maintenance, service and repairs to the vehicles, overseeing the efficiency, attitude, workmanship, customer service and safety of the drivers in order to minimize down time and satisfying service delivery, while ensuring required standard of road worthy fitness standards in compliance with all local and national revenue and environmental authorities.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Coordinate, administer & monitor performance, maintenance, replacement , safety& security in the use of the company vehicles, in line with organisational policies & procedures
  • Ensure duly renewed revenue license, insurance & emission certificates are in place and maintain accurate records of the fleet , service & inspection, roadworthiness in compliance with the servicing schedule & the local statutory requirments
  • Implement & maintain a Fleet Monitoring & maintenance system for information management for the effective use of organisational resources
  • Extend required support to the team for its effective functioning – including the conduct of the annual insurance survey, event management & any other tasks assigned as deemed necessary
Educational Background: 
Diploma in related field or any equivalent qualifications
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least 5 Years of Work experience in Fleet Management & maintenance at a supervisory level.
  • Thorough mechanical and technical knowledge of vehicles.
  • Strong Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and subordinates.
  • Good communications, Organizational & Supervisory skills & ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets databases etc.
  • Ability to communicate in English & Sinhala essential. Knowledge of Tamil would be an advantage
  • Ability & willingness to travel 20 of the time
