The Communications Coordinator will package stories creatively in written, photo or video format to suit our audience keeping in line with the organisational goals & objectives. He/she will also work with the Communications team to develop and produce creative concepts for different visual material that help people connect to our work.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Travelling to the communities and identifying stories that can be presented creatively to inspire partnering for long lasting change.
- Producing high quality creative stories in written, photo and video formats for the Partnership and other stakeholders
- Coming up with creative concepts for campaign and other communications material.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma OR equivalent work experience in a similar capacity
Skills/Experience:
- Excellent creative story writing, photography and Video storytelling skills
- Ability to create concepts for visual material for campaigns and other communications
- Excellent oral and written (English) communications skills and proficiency in local languages ( Sinhala AND/OR /Tamil)
- Good knowledge of social media platforms
Work Environment/Travel
- Spend 40 - 50% of the time in the field to gather resources
- Be able and willing to work flexible/late hours when necessary
- Ability to be deployed to the field at short notice (especially during a disaster response)
- Demonstrate commitment to World Vision’s values and able to work well in a cross-cultural work environment
