The Director of Major and Individual Giving is responsible for cultivating and soliciting major gifts from individuals. The Director of Major and Individual Giving is responsible for developing the Frost Valley YMCA’s planned giving program including cultivation solicitation, and recognition. The Director of Major and Individual Giving also plays an important role in ongoing consultative support for staff and leadership in soliciting major gifts.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Manage portfolio of major donors to include all aspects of stewardship, solicitation, etc.., Including Stewards of the Valley, our recurring giving program.
  • Identification & cultivation of new donors/prospects.
  • Collaborate with staff and Board of Trustees to identify volunteers and staff that should be involved with the prospect of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship to increase the maximum potential for success, assist trustees as needed providing: research, strategy tips and general support in their work with donors.
  • Coordinate off-site major donor cultivation and stewardship events.
  • Assist in growing Neversink Society members and dollars to include endowment campaigns, capital efforts and planned giving efforts.
  • Write most major donor correspondence including appeals in collaboration with Development Department.
  • Assist in partnership with Development Ops team member in Trustee’s P2P efforts.
  • Steward team and assist as needed in end of year campaign and Project 332 campaign, including staff campaign – full time and seasonal.
Educational Background: 
A Bachelor’s degree and eight years of successful fundraising experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and databases, particularly around moves management.
  • Demonstrated success in soliciting major and individual gifts.
  • Clean and valid US Driver’s License.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Ability to adhere to timelines and manage priorities independently.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00
