Program Manager, Mission Delivery - Transportation

Executes implementation activities to support transportation priorities within designated local market.  

Accountable to provide coordination and support for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of local community transportation priorities through the effective relationship, cultivation, and management of volunteer and community resources in the assigned geographic areas with an emphasis on reaching the medically underserved.  Implements customer promise principles of determination, passion, and innovation as standard business practice.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Executes on set enterprise mission strategies to achieve assigned quality of life goals and objectives.
  • Assesses transportation needs of the designated market including the determination of those areas with the greatest need.
  • Supports ongoing identification and updating of local transportation resources to be included within the local portfolio of transportation alternatives and the American Cancer Society Cancer Resource Connection
  • Secures and maintains expertise in transportation resources, including eligibility requirements for available services.
  • Coordinates and schedules patient rides.
  • Develops strong relationships with internal stakeholders including local staff, and national patient services center staff to promote and deliver on transportation programming
  • Manages transportation grant initiatives to address transportation gaps in the Greater Cincinnati market.
  • Serves as spokesperson for transportation needs of cancer patients in the greater Cincinnati market
  • Assess risks, issues, and troubleshoots problems to find viable solutions with a strong sense of urgency; collaborates with peers frequently to find enterprise solutions as well as region specific answers.
  • Assists with monitoring return on investment for programs in communities within the assigned geographical location, responds to mission impact results, and searches for innovative solutions to constituent needs for access to care initiatives, and other enterprise goals related to our program of work.
  • Delivers on strategy for local collaborations, relationships, and partnerships for transportation programs.
  • Recruits and leverages volunteers to increase program utilization and fulfillment.
  • Ensures engagement and mobilization of diverse constituents and volunteers in a prioritized and coordinated way.
  • Monitors customer evaluation of transportation program with the goal of raising satisfaction scores and increasing relevancy in the community.
  • Collaborates directly with support and fulfillment teams in North Central Region and the National Cancer Information Center to ensure program success, including completing administrative tasks, monitoring program performance, and conducting risk assessments and compliance verification.
  • Monitors progress against objectives; adjusts plans and manages contingency efforts and  resources as required.
  • Leads by example and provides clear vision of organizational direction and success.
  • Works in partnership with ACS CAN, including efforts to increase ACS CAN membership.
  • Actively demonstrates and cascades the enterprise-wide core values: integrity, compassion, courage, determination, and diversity
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health/Insurance Administration, or Health Business Administration preferred; graduate degree a plus.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Able to cultivate relationships with targeted systems/organizations and diverse populations to create sense of urgency related to awareness of cancer as a major health problem and motivate to action in prevention and early detection.
  • Ability to represent the Society effectively to hospitals and other health systems, community members and corporate partners.
  • Outcome driven with proven experience in community-based program and project planning,implementation, and management.
  • Strong market, community and constituent perspective.
  • Excellent oral and written communication interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to proactively monitor and adjust activities to respond to changing circumstances and priorities to meet goals.
  • Ability to analyze and appropriately integrate information from relevant sources.
  • Able to work through others to accomplish goals.
  • Proficient in computer-based information systems.
  • Ability to understand and work within a complex organizational structure

SPECIALIZED TRAINING OR KNOWLEDGE:

  • Experience in supporting community service development and sustained program integration.
  • General knowledge of health-based organizations and systems.

SPECIAL MENTAL OR PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Travel, including evening and weekend work required.
