This position plays a leadership role to manage and administer the department budget process and international and domestic external grants and World Service. Incumbent works with the leadership to ensure strong stewardship of the budget including external and World Service grant management.
Areas of Responsibility:
International Group and Grant Administration
- Oversee the international group budgeting process and manage the departmental budget including external grant and World Service grant tracking and management
- Manages the monthly and year-end reconciliation process of all international group finances to ensure strong stewardship
- Ensure financial compliance with government, corporate and foundation regulations, including overseeing Y-USA audits
- Assist International Group staff with grant project management and tracking
- Oversee and reconcile World Service Campaign contributions and fund disbursements for projects worldwide
- Ensure that World Service grant proposals are signed and meet Y-USA financial and legal requirements
- Lead efforts to ensure proper stewardship of all financial resources for international group, including designated donor funds, grant and corporate funding, endowments, and World Service campaign contributions
- Manage the review and evaluation process of partner agreements and sub-grantees financial reports
- Oversee grant related communications to World Alliance of YMCAs and global partner YMCAs to ensure timely reporting and meeting deadlines set by government and foundations
- Oversee department stewardship practices including staying abreast of changing regulations and different processes set up by various donor agencies and Y-USA
- Contribute to decision making of the strategic direction, management and financial issues of the department
- Responsible for financial reporting to external donors including government, corporate and foundation grants
- Collaborate with all necessary Y-USA departments to ensure proper financial management for cross-departmental work
- Other duties as assigned
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in international or related field required
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in nonprofit fundraising, finance or administration is required.
- Experience with grant and/or annual campaign funding and management
- International experience working abroad or with global partners is preferred
- High level of integrity and cultural competency to represent Y-USA in a global setting
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Demonstrated experience working independently and as a team member
- Demonstrated experience coaching and mentoring staff
- Demonstrated experience assisting and implementing objectives
- Advanced computer and Microsoft Office skills
- Proven experience in data entry and analysis and working with accounting and fundraising software, preferably Financial Edge and Raiser’s Edge
- Fluency in foreign language is preferred
- Ability to gather and analyze data, information and prepare reports is required
- Experience with general accounting principles and budgets

Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $71,000.00 - $73,000.00
