Manager - Financial Analysis & Budgeting

To provide operational support and financial expertise to budget owners.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Generate and interpret financial reports and advise budget owners regarding the financial status of programs, projects and funds. Ensure the financial integrity of budgets by monitoring balances and expenditures.
  • Monitor actual performance against the financial plan. Research discrepancies and advises budget owners of potential issues.
  • Develop and generate monthly executive summary financial reports.
  • Guide and support budget owners through the annual planning process and monthly forecasting.
  • Develop tools and processes to administer and monitor donor funded activities.
  • Engage budget owners in donor-funded project management process.
  • Provide support to Development on grant budget requests and donor-funded reporting.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze financial and other statistical data to generate financial and non-financial reports that generate meaningful and actionable insights.
  • Lead the process to develop various modeling tools to guide the organization in resource management.
  • Assists budget owners in the procurement and contract process.
  • Develop and present training sessions related to financial and budgetary topics to budget owners and other individuals.
Educational Background: 
BA/BS or relevant experience (Accounting / Finance / Business / Technology)
Skills/Experience: 
  • 5 years financial experience with responsibility in Finance working with budgets, or as a business analyst

  • Collaborates Internally & Externally – Ability to work tactfully and effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization. Must maintain confidentiality of information.

  Required Technical Competence and Experience

  • Excellent MS Office skills along with hands-on experience in enterprise-wide applications.  Experience with SQL report-writer or other database reporting applications. BI experience a plus.
  • Must be able to analyze financial reports and various data and identify trends and issues.
  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
