The Manager, Constituent & 3rd party events plays a key leadership role in achieving budgetary and strategic goals as part of the Alzheimer’s Association Illiniois Chapter. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Chapter’s Constituent & 3rd Party events throughout the state. The Manager will be accountable for the achievement of income performance targets through the effective leadership, engagement, empowerment, and mobilization of volunteer committees. Measurable outcomes for this position include: achieving designated financial goals through event fundraising, identifying and soliciting volunteers for leadership roles, providing overall strategy to streamline and maximize revenue potential for all events with management oversight. Based in Chicago, IL or vicinity, this position requires travel within the assigned territory.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Will provide strategic direction for all Chapter Constituent & 3rd Party events including working in collaboration with the Manager, The Longest Day on how to best position both new & past events
  • Work to align Chapter internal events with direction of Alzheimer’s Association fundraising initiatives
  • Work in conjunction with volunteer chair leadership to execute events
  • Cultivate a pipeline of volunteer leadership for succession planning
  • Work in conjunction with appropriate Development staff to secure sponsorship revenue for events as well as participants/attendees
  • Assure Chapter compliance with Alzheimer’s Association policies, standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned.
  • Actively participate in learning opportunities for professional growth and self-improvement.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3-5 years successful track record in sales, fundraising & event planning
  • Preferred experience in recruiting and mobilizing volunteers to achieve goals
  • Confident, goal-oriented, positive self-starter with proven experience in managing simultaneous projects & events
  • Demonstrated management skills, including the ability set clear goals, organize projects, establish and manage budgets, develop work processes and supervise volunteers
  • Detail-oriented, efficient & ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated ability to form and develop donor relationships
  • Ability to work with diverse communities and demonstrate inclusion
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the assigned territory by car. Travel in this case, is considered time spent away from the office, in the community, to fulfil the job goals.
  • While most such travel is same day, occasional overnight travel or air travel may be required. Must have valid driver’s license, access to reliable vehicle, good driving record and proof of automobile insurance
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as required for the job
  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift and transport up to 25 lbs of materials
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office products and social media; experience with, or ability to rapidly learn, Team Approach/Convio software
