Reporting to the Region 9 Leader and Illinois Chapter Executive Director, the Health Systems Director (HSD) is responsible for the achievement of the Alzheimer’s Association’s objectives to improving dementia-related services within health systems. This will be done through a consultative, collaborative and relationship management approach, focused on assisting health systems in implementing clinical practice guidelines for the timely and accurate detection, diagnosis, disclosure and care of Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders (ADRD). The HSD’s work will engage all levels within health systems, from the C-suite to individual health care providers.
This position requires a self-starter who can develop new relationships and initiatives based on the level and interest of the health system. While the Health Systems Director will work primarily within the Illinois Chapter’s territory, technical assistance may be required in Indiana and Kentucky.
- Develops and cultivates a portfolio of health systems partnerships, with an emphasis on systems with the greatest potential to impact
- the Association's health systems goals.
- Cultivates productive relationships with key decision makers and champions in health systems.
- Assesses a health system’s readiness, capacity, needs, and interests and uses this assessment to guide products and solutions
- to offer.
- Provides training and technical support to Health Systems and key members of their staff, including clinicians, on the implementation of clinical practice guidelines for timely and accurate Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders (ADRD) detection, diagnosis, disclosure, and care.
- Ensures accurate assessment of a health system’s baseline status and tracking of progress on ADRD-related quality measures.
- Works with Alzheimer’s Association and health systems staff on the evaluation of systems-based programs and products for ADRD clinical practice improvement.
- Builds a robust stream of referrals from clinical settings to Alzheimer’s Association programs and services.
- Understands relevant aspects of health systems operations, such as quality improvement, person-centered care, access to care, payment and policy issues

- Experience with program planning, implementation, and evaluation

- Demonstrates 5 or more years of experience working for or with health systems, or other health care industry experience.
- Experience in training, quality improvement facilitation, or technical assistance
- preferred.
- Demonstrates 5 or more years of experience cultivating productive working relationships with decision-makers in client or partner organizations.
- Experience in account management/consultative sales is preferred.
