Relationship management team member for a portfolio of 150 to 200 individual Major Gift prospects. Provide best-in-class donor outreach and stewardship, prospect research, gift and pledge documentation and donor records. Prospect individuals and family foundations that are qualified as being capable of considering a gift of $1 million or more to a strategic priority of Feeding America. Assist in building major gifts fundraising capacity by collaborating with network food bank members managed by a Director of Development. Promote cross-collaboration with network members and other colleagues engendering trust in the prospect relationship management process.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Manage interactions with major and mid-level prospects and review gift request materials and family foundation grant requests.
- Manage relationships with 150 to 200 individual major donors and prospects.
- Work with Major Gifts Team on the development of integrated strategies for major gifts prospects and mid-level prospects.
- Participate in engagement strategy development for ultra-high net worth prospects.
- Work in partnership with the Development Directors to initiative and complete fundraising materials, such as briefing materials, request letters, proposals and personalized gift request materials for key solicitation and stewardship meetings.
- Work with the Major Gifts Team on the implementation of comprehensive individual major gift stewardship and recognition plans for major donors.
- Collaborate with network member food banks to increase support from new and shared donors; maximize network member interactions through market visits and attendance at fundraising events where major gift donors and prospects can be reached.
- Assure that all donor interactions in assigned portfolio are recorded in Feeding America’s database and all gifts are properly recorded.
Educational Background:
BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.preferred.
Skills/Experience:
- Four years or more of experience in supporting the management of high level donor relationships.
- Strong communication, writing and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with the cultivation of major gifts including developing donor strategies, solicitation approaches and donor stewardship.
- Ability to screen prospective donors from lists provided by network members and senior leaders to quickly determine which to direct cultivation efforts toward.
- Willingness to travel approximately 2 to 4 times per quarter.
- Ability to do first level prospect research to coordinate higher level prospect research with other team members at Feeding America.
- A deep commitment to the mission of Feeding America.
