NRDC is seeking a Development Associate to work with the Foundation Relations team in our Chicago office. The Development Associate, Foundation Relations supports the work of the Foundation Relations team by coordinating stewardship of donors, managing administrative functions, and supporting the National Director.
Areas of Responsibility:
Steward donors
- Work with Foundation team members to identify stewardship opportunities and craft materials (emails, written documents, presentations)
- Plan foundation updates (mailings, teleconferences, webinars, and more)
- Collaborate with Donor Relations colleagues to learn about potential opportunities for shared donor outreach and updates
Support Foundations Team
- Manage timely processing of Concur reports
- Schedule and record team meetings and schedule key meetings with foundations and other departments
- Maintain team Dropbox files to ensure sharing information and clear communication
- Monitor outstanding tasks and alert National Director about any concerns
Support National Director
- Help manage calendar and travel plans
- Assist in tracking major projects
- Other administrative duties as assigned
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree required
Skills/Experience:
- 2+ years’ experience in an office setting
- Salesforce experience a plus
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational instincts and ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously
- Detail oriented with high standards of excellence
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze and develop strategies for efficient approaches to work
- Broad knowledge of environmental issues and foundation donors a plus
