Collect and maintain data, synthesize data and publish reports to make data accessible to varied stakeholders, enabling and empowering the organization and the network to make data-driven decisions in our collective effort to serve the food insecure.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Assist with design, development, and implementation of quarterly and annual data collection questionnaires encompassing food bank operations, programmatic activities, food sourcing and distribution, financials, and more.
  • Support and administer monthly, quarterly, and annual data collection questionnaires from member food banks.
  • Ensure data integrity by reviewing submissions and following up with members to understand critical context and making changes, as necessary.
  • Ensure data accuracy by providing training and communication to members in completing data collection questionnaires.
  • Prepare and publish monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on a variety of key performance indicators and related metrics from data collected from members and other external data sources.
  • Identify opportunities to automate data collection and reporting processes to improve efficiency.
  • Make data accessible to varied audiences by publishing content to and maintaining reporting site on SharePoint.
  • As part of Data & Analytics team, provide project-based and ad hoc data and analysis in support of internal department information needs and decision making.
  • Maintain service area assignments and support organizational assets that rely on service area definitions.
Educational Background: 
BA/BS or relevant experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • Leverages Functional Expertise – Ability to synthesize data into reports and draw insights to meet business needs, requiring a strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Understands our “Business” – Can apply strong analytical skills to the hunger relief space. Has a sense of curiosity about data and how it applies to the mission.
  • Communicates Effectively – Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to translate complex technical data into business language.
  • Collaborates Internally and Externally – Ability to operate successfully within the organization and with the network in an environment with shifting priorities, requiring an ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

Required Technical Competence and Experience

  • Experience extracting data from native sources
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel and Access
  • Experience with business intelligence reporting tools, a plus
