The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS raises funds to support its mission through a variety of exciting campaigns.

The Campaign Manager, Student Series position of LLS’ Greater Illinois Chapter will provide operational support for the Student Series campaign.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Student Series (SS):

  • Meet established fundraising goals for the campaign.
  • Make calls and send follow up emails/communication to recruited schools to confirm participation, campaign dates, and material needs.
  • Recruit schools to participate in the program.
  • Conduct assemblies and student leadership meetings at schools.
  • Conduct strategy phone calls to new volunteers/schools.
  • Assist with the active school management process: utilize JobAid to pull the list of schools scheduled to begin their program, confirm the school’s recorded campaign dates and amount of materials before supplies are shipped; and assign lists to self and staff as needed.
  • Manage the fulfillment and management of program supplies.
  • Manage donation management: update JobAid, pull registration sheets, and manage thank you process
  • Manage collection phone calls and other communication to schools that have not turned in their donations.

Overall

  • Encourage and model standard for cross-promotion amongst campaigns
  • Attend and assist with annual chapter events as assigned, e.g. Light the Night Walk
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the LLS mission and the capability to educate others on our goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Manager, Student Series
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • Two (2) – Four (4) years experience in a fundraising/nonprofit environment preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Capable of balancing multiple priorities effectively and meeting deadlines
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed to excellence
  • Highly organized
  • Professional demeanor
  • Resourcefulness and problem solving acumen
  • Excellent computer skills (word processing and database programs)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a car
  • Local in-state travel is required; must be willing to attend and facilitate a minimum of 70 school visits
  • Able to work some evenings and weekends
