The Alzheimer's Association National office seeks an Associate Director of Stewardship, to support and implement a comprehensive stewardship plan for principal and major gift donors. The Associate Director will report to the Director of Stewardship and work closely with other staff to implement and coordinate an association-wide stewardship program that appropriately and consistently promotes interaction with and recognition of donors.
This position is preferably based in the home office, located in downtown Chicago, IL.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Support Director of Stewardship in implementing a pro-active program for stewardship and donor relations including customized stewardship engagement strategies and Zenith Chair support. Work to assist and implement donor recognition opportunities and activities.
- Serve as primary and collaborate with the Director of Stewardship and Director of Communications in managing the Zenith Fellows grants program as well as Zenith donor tracking and reporting, welcome packets and E-communications and web management.
- Manage all aspects of the Zenith Society meeting, AAIC donor experience and Advocacy Forum including donor communications, program, speakers, logistics and follow-up. Work collaboratively with principal and major gift officers in securing donor attendance.
- Serve as primary support for Parlor Events to the principal and major gift officers. Help ensure that events held in major market areas with strong pipeline are meeting event timelines, format, logistics, follow-up, etc.
- Manage specific Zenith Society members, NARFE and Sons of Italy, and steward their fundraising efforts throughout the year. Coordinate annual NARFE Alzheimer's Committee meeting and manage the grants selection.
- Manage the AAIC follow-up book publication along with a new Zenith Society Impact publication (annual/biennial).
- Help to ensure that metrics and systems to monitor outcomes of each area of stewardship programming are being implemented and followed.
Educational Background:
BA degree, Advanced degree a plus
Skills/Experience:
- 5 years of related nonprofit fundraising experience
- Proven success in developing donor engagement and recognition plans, preferably in an academic medical center or related to medical research
- Demonstrated leadership in the donor engagement and recognition process
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to organize, plan, and carry out activities independently to meet specific timelines and goals
- Keen understanding of working in a federated, non-profit structure
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends and travel as needed (15%)
