The Volunteer Coordinator position will communicate and coordinate with individuals in the community to support the work of Habitat through volunteerism. The Volunteer Coordinator position recognizes volunteers and further develops the volunteer program. This position reports to the Volunteer Relations Manager. Work schedule is Wednesday & Thursday 9am-1pm and Friday & Saturday 8am-2pm.

Areas of Responsibility: 

MANAGEMENT OF NEW AND ONGOING VOLUNTEERS

  • Schedule volunteers for both ReStores
  • Schedule community service and workers comp volunteers
  • Work onsite Fridays and Saturdays with construction staff to fulfill daily tasks needed to ensure successful volunteer build days, including orienting and communicating with volunteers – serve as support role to construction staff
  • Serve as direct point of contact with volunteers day-of their project

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND RECRUITMENT OF NEW VOLUNTEERS

  • Conduct volunteer orientations
  • Attend volunteer and service fairs as representative of Habitat to promote volunteer opportunities and affiliate engagement
  • Follow up with interested individual volunteers as indicated by orientation, community engagement opportunities and direct contact
  • Communicate with individual volunteers as needs arise

VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION AND FOLLOW UP

  • Coordinate volunteer lunches for sponsor groups
  • Follow up with volunteers after volunteer date, including thank you’s, surveys, etc.
  • Post photos to Instagram, Facebook, and send to volunteer groups
  • Develop and implement new, and revise existing volunteer recognition tools and appreciation events
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's Degree
Skills/Experience:

  • Perform other tasks or projects as may be assigned
  • Take pictures of volunteers on site
