The Program Director manages the operation of a day program serving adults with developmental disabilities.  Seeking a full-time, exempt-level Program Director for a Sacramento Adult Day Program.

Educational Background: 
Minimum of an Associate of Arts degree in a field related to health, special education, welfare, rehabilitation or business, from an accredited college or university is recommended; a Bachelor’s degree is desirable.
Skills/Experience: 
  •  Two (2) years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.      

Working Knowledge of:

  • Community Code of Regulations, Title 22
  • General principles and practices of supervision and staff development.
  • Philosophies, objectives and goals of community service organizations.
  • Disabilities and related characteristics of individuals served by the agency.
  • Effective interpersonal communication techniques.
  • Community resources, related agencies, and available services.
  • Basic computer skills using word processing and data management programs. 

Language Skills: 

  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Follow written and verbal directions.
  • Effectively be able to present information and respond to questions from supervisor, co-workers, consumers and the general public. 

Reasoning Ability:                         

  • Ability to solve practical problems and use available resources.
  • Work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Maintain composure and good judgment under stressful conditions.
  • Demonstrates ethical conduct; is trustworthy, honest and transparent.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, consumers, families, care providers and the general public.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  •  Evidence of auto liability insurance & a good driving record.
  •  Adult CPR with AED and Basic First Aid.
  •  Fingerprint clearance (Department of Justice), per CCL requirements.
  •  Pre-placement physical and back assessment.
  • TB test within the past twelve (12) months.
