The International Society for Infectious Diseases (ISID), established in 1986, is a non-profit organisation that works to control infectious disease outbreaks and improve the care of patients afflicted with these conditions, worldwide. Headquartered in Brookline Massachusetts, this multimillion dollar organisation has core staff of ten and an extensive network of international consultants who monitor world heath events. ISID is seeking an experienced, professional Finance Manager to join our team. This position will play a key role in our organisation's operations, managing all of the day-to-day accounting, finance and human resource requirements. This will include creation of monthly management accounts, financial reports and working with the executive team to analyze department finances and develop budgets.
Confidentiality, excellent organisational skills and accuracy are important skills for this position, as well as good customer relations and the ability to communicate clearly. The ideal candidate for this position will report directly to the Executive Director and be a key member of the management team will be a skilled multi-tasker who is reliable and is committed to consistently meeting deadlines.
Key Objectives
• To assume responsibility for all aspects of the finances of our organization

Key Roles
Finance
• Budgeting
• Accounting records keeping
• Book keeping
• Year-end and month-end accounting
• Coordination of the annual audit with the independent audit firm
• Drafting accounts according to regulations
• Preparation and monitoring of cash flow budget
• Financial reporting including monthly management accounts
• Financial reporting for projects
• Bank reconciliations
• Tax reporting and filing including the IRS Form 990 preparation with the audit firm
• Ensure that the organization is properly registered in all appropriate states for fundraising
• Assisting in financial strategic planning
• Administration of corporate governance
• Regularly review and update accounting systems to ensure compliance with charitable status
• Administer corporation insurance
Project Administration
• Manage and process payments to members of the team of international medical consultants that support the organization
Human Resources
• Administer the processing of the payroll and yearend IRS reporting requirements
• Manage the reporting aspects of the 401k benefit plan and communicate plan information to individual team members
• Ensure relevant insurance (workers comp, etc.) is kept up to date
• Manage administration of personnel records including tracking holidays, vacations, sick days, etc.
• Manage issues related to the operation of the office space, mail room, lunchroom and similar duties
Any other reasonable duties as requested by the Executive Director
Key Skills
• At least five years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit environment
• Experience in project/restricted income/fund accounting
• Expertise with QuickBooks
• Extensive knowledge of US GAAP and non-profit accounting
• Advanced computer skills in MS Office and accounting software, particularly Excel
• Excellent organisational, problem-solving, project management and communication skills
• Additional experience in Audit and International accounting
This is a part time position with scheduled but flexible hours. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will work about 20 hours per week.
