Habitat for Humanity of Kitsap County, Washington is seeking a self- directed Finance Manager to take responsibility for the full accounting cycle and oversee mortgage servicing. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years’ experience in: generating and analyzing financial statements at the request of management; general ledger accounting and journal entries; budgeting; monthly/annual closing processes; familiarity with best practices of construction accounting; and servicing mortgage loans. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

People

  • Communicate with professionalism, timeliness, clarity, positivity and cultural competence with people of all levels and backgrounds
  • Develop and maintain positive, collaborative functional relationships with staff, homeowners, volunteers, donors and vendors and other Washington Habitat Affiliates

Accounting

  • Performs the day to day financial transactions, maintenance and management of the organizations accounting to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the data
  • Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll through QuickBooks Intuit

Journal Entries

  • Bank Statement and Credit Card Reconciliation
  • Auditing and review reports
  • Monthly, Quarterly, and Year-End Closings, including conducting ledger management and account reconciliations
  • Monitor all construction job costs and cash flow management
  • Provide monthly financials to the finance team
  • Oversee general liability and property insurance
  • Oversee employee health benefits and retirement plan
  • Assist the finance team in the development of the annual budgets and advise the Executive Director of budget issues and future needs

Mortgage Servicing

  • Manage all mortgage loans and escrow accounts
  • Monitor and maintain homeowner loan information
  • Manage mortgage collections activities, including meeting with homeowners
  • Obtain proper management approval for action to be taken on delinquent loans
  • Perform an annual escrow analysis, adjusting escrow accounts accordingly

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Executive Director with other duties assigned
  • Work in partnership with all staff to create a successful organization
  • Participate in professional development
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree and at least 3 years of relevant accounting/bookkeeping experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • Must have complete understanding of Full Cycle Accounting
  • Knowledge of accounting techniques/procedures
  • Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and Excel REQUIRED
  • Experience with remodeling/construction business accounting structure
  • Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills
Compensation/Benefits: 

The salary range is $38,000-$40,000, commensurate with experience. Habitat for Humanity of Kitsap County offers a competitive benefits package that includes health and dental coverage, retirement, paid vacation and sick leave.
