The Finance Department is comprised of three distinct sectors: Accounting, Purchasing/Facilities, and Patient Accounts. Collaboratively all members of the team work to maintain the financial health and efficiency of the organization so that the work of PPLM’s seven health centers can continue. The Finance Clerk will work closely with the Payroll & Accounting Associate and other Finance staff to ensure completion of daily Accounting operations and accurate internal cash reporting.

This position will empower the Finance Clerk with practical, hands-on Accounts Payable, reconciliation, and Excel skills while providing insight into both the nonprofit sector and healthcare financial management. The Finance Clerk will also be able expand their professional network within PPLM. Though this individual would primarily work in Accounting, there are possibilities for overlap within Purchasing and Patient Accounts for a more comprehensive Finance experience.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Maintaining Accounts Payable, including vendor entry, vouchering, and check processing.
  • Creating and monitoring requisitions for timely payment of recurring monthly expenses.
  • Reconciliation of daily health center cash batches, ensuring cash received matches internal NextGen records.
  • Some administrative duties as needed/assigned.
Skills/Experience: 
  • A demonstrated interest in finance, nonprofit healthcare, sexual and reproductive health, and/or public health.
  • Ability to learn new financial systems quickly, such as Microsoft Dynamics and ReQlogic.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and strong internal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people of different races, ethnicities, sexual and gender identities and expressions, ages, abilities and experiences
  • Commitment to addressing the impact of racism and other oppressions on sexual health
  • A commitment to PPLM's mission and values.
