The Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts (PPAF) seeks a highly motivated and detail oriented organizer. The Organizer is responsible for supporting the execution of a statewide strategy to harness the energy of supporters across the Commonwealth, building the organization’s base and recruiting volunteers and attendees for events. They will develop relationships with PPAF supporters and community organizations, and ensure that consistent engagement opportunities exist for supporters across the state to take action in support of Planned Parenthood. This work includes traditional community organizing as well as patient and provider programs, and youth engagement.
The Organizer will work primarily for PPAF, the advocacy and political arm of PPLM.
- Work with the organizing team to implement a geographically based supporter engagement program that harnesses energy of PP supporters across the Commonwealth.
- Recruit volunteers and attendees for targeted actions to support PPAF
- Plan and execute events and activities to engage supporters.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with individuals and organizations to foster new partnerships and advance grassroots strategies.
- Collaborate with organizing staff to recruit supporters to attend electoral activities including phone banks, canvasses and participate in other tactics used to support endorsed candidates; in some instances, manage these events
- 1 year of campaign, volunteer management, and advocacy/organizing experience
- Available for significant statewide travel (at least 3 times per week)
- Consistent access to a vehicle and valid driver’s license required.
- Schedule will vary and include frequent nights and weekends.
- Experience recruiting and training volunteers, and experience with volunteer management databases (such as Voter Activation Network) necessary.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfortable making public presentations required
- Must possess the ability to think creatively and strategically, work independently and as a team member, meet deadlines, and prioritize work
- Demonstrated ability to work with people of different races, ethnicities, sexual and gender identities and expressions, ages, abilities and experiences
- Commitment to addressing the impact of racism and other oppressions on sexual health

Compensation range: $19.00-20.00 per hour.
