Under the direction of a manager, director, or senior executive, is primary contact for all activities surrounding medium to large operational or functional projects(s) and initiative(s). Oversees all phases of work to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed timeframe and budget. Responsibilities may include operations analysis, feasibility studies, cost-benefit analysis, development of work or implementation plans, formation of work groups, and management of work group processes. Serves as the internal consultant on business requirements for projects and manages information flow between project members, senior management, and others. Serves as liaison with external organizations and other strategic partners.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provides high-level project management expertise, consultation and support for initiatives that support operational or administrative goals. Projects are directly related to the management or general business operations of the company. Analyzes and assesses time frame, funding limitations, staffing needs, and allotment of resources needed to achieve project goals. Recommends work plan and staffing for each phase of project and assists in recruitment and assignment of personnel as needed.
  • Coordinates, oversees and carries out activities needed to fulfill assigned initiative/project objectives. Identifies need to modify schedules and plans and works with management to ensure project goals are met. Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
  • Establishes short-range project goals and plans. May collaborate with management and provide information needed to establish long-range project goals.
  • Coordinates projects or assignments either within a single functional area or across multiple organizational areas, working with both internal and external clients.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed timeframe and budget. Monitors the use of project resources.
  • Maintains on-going relationships with outside agencies, consultants and contractors and other strategic partners as needed.
  • Represents management on intra-practice and/or cross-organizational teams and projects as assigned.
  • Prepares reports and updates for management on progress.
  • May supervise a small group of direct reports, including subordinate supervisors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities within areas of responsibility in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Provides direction and support to staff to assure departmental effectiveness and efficiency. Responsibilities include interviewing, selecting, orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; reviewing personnel actions of subordinates and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Educational Background: 
BA/BS preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • Relevant experience is highly valued.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a professional setting
  • Excellent communication, writing, editing and computer skills essential.
  • Strong organization and project management skills necessary.
  • Must be flexible and work well with deadlines. 
  • Ability to use data to the extent that it supports agency positions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people of different races, ethnicities, sexual and gender identities and expressions, ages, abilities and experiences
  • Commitment to addressing the impact of racism and other oppressions on sexual health
  • A commitment to PPLM's mission and values.
