Under the direction of the Director of Development, the Development Coordinator assists with a broad range of administrative, fundraising, outreach, special events, and development activities.  Assists and supports Director of Development in the planning of all YMCA fundraising activities, such as the Annual Campaign, Capital Campaign, special events, sponsorships, general contributions, and grants.  This position requires strong organizational skills and an ability to independently prioritize as well as multi-task.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provide support for the Annual Campaign, Inspirational Breakfast, Financial Development, other fundraising initiatives, and their related committees.
  • Functions as the lead pledge administrator for the Association, coordinating with Accounting/Finance the entering of gifts into donor records.
  • Responsible for writing gift acknowledgements and thank you letters, managing mailing lists, and developing and supporting campaign goals.
  • Support the generation of all donor communications including newsletters, social media strategies, annual reports, event invitations, and all marketing collateral related to fundraising efforts.
  • Provides administrative support to the YMCA Annual Campaign.  Responsibilities include assisting volunteer campaigners, event volunteers, donors, prospects and other community members with YMCA related questions.
  • Provide all event logistical support, to include planning, set-up, and post event follow-up.
  • Assist in planning and executing YMCA events, such as Annual Campaign, Inspiration Breakfast, receptions, open houses, rallies, thank you parties, and other special events.
  • Develop and publish event invitations.
  • Support and coordinate all committee meetings, to include meeting agendas, meeting minutes, and assist with meeting follow-ups.
  • Assist in the planned giving initiatives and Heritage Club.
  • Maintaining the departmental calendar and meeting schedule.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of Annual Campaign training and solicitation materials.
  • Researching prospective donors.
  • Manage grants awarded with signatures, required paperwork, and maintaining final grant records.
  • Assisting with additional administrative tasks related to fundraising efforts.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Excellent customer service skills and extraordinary attention to detail.
  • Outstanding time management with the ability to prioritize, organize, and complete work independently.
  • Strong written and oral communications, critical thinking, and proofreading skills.
  • Experience in coordinating and scheduling logistics for small and large meetings and events.
  • Must be a team player and a self-starter with an eye for detail, flexibility, good judgment, the ability to learn quickly and handle multiple, concurrent tasks and assignments.
  • Experience with donor databases, gift acknowledgments, and special event support.
  • Donor prospect research and qualification experience.
  • E-mail marketing skills and experience. 
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with desktop publishing.
  • Ability and willingness to work evening and weekend events when required. 
  • Interest in pursuing a career in the special event/development field.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $35,000.00 - $38,000.00
