Responsible for all assigned job-site construction field operations, including supervision of volunteers; implementation of safety guidelines; project site management; materials acquisition and management; overseeing sub-contractors and coordinating inspections; implementation of environmental and energy efficient building practices; implementation of accessible building practices; quality control supervision of all construction; building of homes on-time and within budget.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Supervise paid and unpaid workers including volunteer crew leaders/construction site coordinators, house leaders, family partners and unskilled volunteers.
- Manage sub-contractors and/or material suppliers.
- Coordinate inspections from city or county inspectors.
- Implement and monitor GBHFH construction guidelines, standards and procedures.
- Provide minimum of three-day advance notice of materials needed on job site in order to ensure building schedule is met, and prevent delays in construction.
- Manage materials in order to control costs.
- Assist the VP of Construction with creation and refinement of standard materials list for each GBHFH project.
- Complete construction of homes on time and within budget.
- Implement and monitor GBHFH safety program at each site.
- Ensure water, cups, first aid kits, sign-in sheets, nametags are on site and utilized.
- Assist with identification of potential project leaders and crew leaders.
- Implement and monitor energy efficiency and environmental building practices throughout project construction.
- Implement and monitor construction of projects that comply with accessibility standards for the disabled.
- Adhere to GBHFH personnel policies and procedures.
- Communicate daily with VP of Construction.
- Must have reliable transportation to get to and from job sites.
- Supervises paid and unpaid workers.
Skills/Experience:
- Two years construction experience.
