This full-time exempt position coordinates chapter development activities primarily throughout Greater Baltimore and directly manages the Walk to End Alzheimer's in Baltimore and Harford County; is responsible for building corporate and community relationships; works directly with donors to grow fundraising capacity; represents the Association at public events and is able to clearly articulate the mission and services of the Alzheimer's Association.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Responsible for achieving current revenue targets and expense budgets for the Walk to End Alzheimer's in Baltimore City/County and Harford County with direct accountability for goals set forth in the annual budget
  • Develop and follow a comprehensive development plan for Walk to End Alzheimer's that includes budgets, timelines, team recruitment and retention strategies, volunteer committee development, marketing/PR and logistics
  • Develop community contacts to recruit high level volunteer leadership on the Walk to End Alzheimer's planning committees and garner community support. Train, coach and develop Walk leadership volunteers to reach goals
  • Through volunteer networks, prospect, cultivate and steward Walk to End Alzheimer's teams, sponsors and walkers to achieve the Chapter's development goals - Execute Alzheimer's Workplace Alliance (AWA) program by recruiting members from businesses, companies and organizations located in the Greater Baltimore area
  • Ensure Walk volunteer committees are recruited, trained and developed on the National Walk to End Alzheimer's timeline and utilizing best practices, resulting in the attainment of income goal and team goals
  • Work with the volunteer planning committee to organize outreach activities that promote the Alzheimer's Association mission and services, including community presentations and corporate engagement opportunities
  • Manage the Walk websites and all related setup, reports and information
  • With Walk committee and operations department, manage all event logistics including but not limited to securing site permits, securing donated food and supplies, transporting supplies to and from the Walk site, determining Walk site layout and routes and scheduling bank days, registration trainings and more
  • Prepare written materials, such as solicitation and recruitment materials, flyers, forms, etc. Corporate Development/Annual Campaign/Donor Cultivation
  • Maintain relationships with key corporate sponsors year-round and insure involvement in all relevant chapter activities and recognition opportunities
  • Work to develop a new network of high level contacts for the chapter and form new corporate alliances and partnerships
  • Promote employee education sessions in local corporations in the community to generate awareness for our cause; to reach out to others; to give back to the corporate sector; and to open new doors for sponsorship opportunities
  • Responsible for cultivating local prospects and current donors in the areas of intermediate gifts for the chapter as well as collaborating with Development Director, and Major Gifts Officer in the area of major gifts, planned giving, corporations and foundations for the chapter 
  •  Other duties as assigned
Skills/Experience: 
  • Relevant four-year degree and a minimum of three years demonstrated experience in team based fundraising with experience in large scale event planning.
  • Experience with corporate partnerships a plus; will consider additional experience as a substitute for four-year degree
  • Successful experience in coaching volunteers in fundraising activities - Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and electronically to a variety of audiences, including through media outlets
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and demonstrate inclusion
  • Strong organizational and task management skills, a strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and as a team member 
  •  Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Google Suite; Experience with other database or fundraising software a plus, (Training on Convio software provided)
  • Valid driver's license and functional insured car

   PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work effectively with volunteers, staff and contacts to build successful teams 
  •  Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel throughout the area as needed to perform job duties
  •  Ability to operate designated office equipment and software 
  •  Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
