SUMMARY:  Planned Parenthood of Maryland is looking for an Associate Medical Director to join our team. The Associate Medical Director assists the Medical Director and other medical services team leaders with administrative duties including supervision of medical staff and monitoring of all Planned Parenthood of Maryland (PPM) protocols.  The Associate Medical Director also provides direct medical care to patients.

Areas of Responsibility: 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee medical abortion, surgical abortion and ultrasound services.
  • Provide clinical consultation and direct medical care including family planning, abortion, and colposcopy services. 
  • In collaboration with the Medical Director recruit, train and supervise nurse practitioners and nurse midwives. 
  • Participate in quality and risk management activities.
  • Oversee training for clinical staff.
  • Collaborate with Medical Director to enhance and expand research activities.
  • Partner with schools to provide training for family planning and abortion services.
Educational Background: 
Must be a graduate of an approved medical school and licensed to practice in the State of Maryland
Skills/Experience: 
  • Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics/Gynecology required. Local hospital staff affiliation is also desired
  • Specialized training in the areas of reproductive health, abortion, gynecology and experience performing ultrasounds for gestational dating and experience providing clinical care for abortion or post-abortion patients strongly desired.
