Data Entry Clerk

The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Temporary Data Entry Clerk with our Customer Strategies team based in the Austin office. This position will be responsible for entering event, donor and donation information into the AHA customer databases – CRM Dynamics and Luminate; and ensure that paperwork is documented and filed correctly. This temporary position is required up to four months between January and April 2019. Part time hours of 10.00am- 2.00pm (Mon- Fri) are required for January and then moving to full time hours of 8.30am- 5.00pm with 1 hour for lunch (Mon- Fri) from February- April.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Enter all event, donor and donation information into our customer databases in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with data entry standards.
  • Receive and prep all mailed donation reports daily ensuring data is recorded and inputted into our spreadsheets and databases
  • Ensure that any necessary paperwork is documented and filed correctly
  • Participate in ensuring excellent data quality and the integrity of the database
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail when entering or interpreting data
  • Achieve at 95% or higher accuracy rating when entering data
  • Completing all metrics tracking systems daily
Educational Background: 
High school diploma or GED equivalent required; BA in Business Administration preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Knowledge of standard office procedures, telephone etiquette, record keeping, filing, data entry formats for computerized record keeping, purchasing procedures and systems, as well as postal rules and regulations.
  • Skill in providing excellent customer service, effective oral communications with both internal and external customers, including conversing by telephone and via email.
  • Ability to work and interact with professional and lay volunteers and staff with sufficient maturity, judgment, initiative, confidence and poise; to participate in meetings, work in a team environment; to conceptualize, reason through problems, make effective decisions and develop alternative solutions
  • To operate typical office equipment, i.e., copier, printer, fax, telephone, postage machine, postage scale, etc.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours and attend meetings beyond the framework of the normal working schedule.
  • Ability to manage projects from start to finish, including managing multiple tasks concurrently, determine top priorities, problem solve trouble areas, and meet all project and task deadlines.
  • 1-3 years related experience
  • Must have the ability to lift at least 20 lbs. from the ground to waist level with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must have at least basic knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office 2010 used for word processing, email, presentations, and spreadsheets. Advanced knowledge and skill with these programs is preferred. These skills are subject to testing.
  • Must be at least 18 years old
