Manages key leadership relationships aligned to global HQ departments to ensure learning design meets client needs. Identify learning needs and design learning experiences for staff and volunteers that align to organizational goals. Creates learning content, resources, tools and job aids following adult learning principles and current industry trends and best practices. Designs, develops, implements and evaluates competency-based and/or position specific curriculum, materials, manuals, and other educational resources. Monitors the results of learning programs and takes appropriate action to ensure materials are high quality and meet learning outcomes. Mentor and coach peers on learning and curriculum design.
- Consults with stakeholders to identify learning needs and course objectives for staff and volunteer audiences and recommend effective learning solutions to match identified needs.
- In collaboration with direct supervisor, provides consultation on learning solution recommendations for less experienced members of the team
- Manage key leadership relationships with global HQ business owners to ensure learning content developed meets identified needs and is aligned to organization strategies. Serves as Primary Account Manager (PAM) for assigned clients or audience groups.
- Quickly synthesize and write learning content based on input from subject matter experts, written material, previous training courses, and interviews.
- Creates online self-paced learning modules, live web-based training and instructor-led training and supporting learner and facilitator materials following an instructional design process
- Design learning content and learning programs to support development of competencies, knowledge, skills and abilities of staff and volunteers including custom content to support organization development interventions and/or other customer needs.
- Define design project schedules and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Use appropriate project management tools to support assigned work including stakeholder analysis, Gantt charts, storyboards, statement of work, intake and feedback process tools.
- Test new learning tools and content to determine effectiveness and appropriate implementation of alternative modalities
- Designs, implements appropriate reinforcement tools and resources that enhances retention and aid in learning transfer including manager discussion guides and informal learning strategies.
- Collaborate with Talent Development Partners (TDP) to ensure effective promotion and delivery of designed content.
- Facilitate Train-the-Trainer (T3) sessions for delivery by staff and volunteers including Talent Development staff, Subject Matter Expert (SME) team, and National Volunteer Training Team (NVTT).
- Works collaboratively with other teams in Talent Strategy to establishing baseline assessment and post learning assessment to determine effectiveness of curriculum.
- Regularly review existing learning content to maintain relevance, accuracy, and remain responsive to developing trends and industry best practices.
- Follow necessary processes to upload content on Society Pathways and Volunteer Learning Center and support internal knowledge management through use of shared drives and systems.
- Optimizes the utilization of the Society Pathways and Volunteer Learning Center by understanding the full functionality and capability of the system.
- Manages outsourcing partners and serves as a liaison between internal client and outsourcing partners on design work.
- Facilitates special projects and participates in broader project teams pursuant to Talent Strategy and other department initiatives.
- Must have extensive knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design and evaluation methodology/practice.

SKILLS:
- Progressive experience in learning design and development.
- Proven knowledge and experience in adult learning, instructional and curriculum design and learning evaluation.
- Proven experience in working with a wide range of staff and volunteers demonstrating highly effective interpersonal skills, multi-tasking skills and ability to remain highly motivated in changing circumstances.
- Ability to mentor and coach Learning Consultants without formal direct supervision
- Strong technology competency in learning design tools including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Adobe Captivate, Snag It, Go Animate, and Adobe Connect
- Able to operate in a team environment that holds individuals accountable for results
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts
- Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment
- Basic knowledge and experience conducting OD interventions
