Habitat for Humanity International is currently seeking a talented individual for the role of Talent Acquisition Specialist. This highly-collaborative position must work effectively with many internal and external stakeholders in order to provide top-notch program and recruitment support. Primarily responsible for recruitment of regular employment positions and AmeriCorps members across the USA, this position not only brings innovative ideas to the table but can also implement them successfully.

This position heavily supports various programs managed by the Talent Acquisition (TA) team, including portions of the AmeriCorps program, US and International Volunteer Programs and Internship Program, and participates in special projects/assignments.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Recruitment (50%)

  • Responsible for full cycle recruitment for various positions assigned to the TA team, including regular employment, volunteers, interns, etc., including reviewing and posting job vacancy information, phone screens, interview and feedback facilitation, and managing the process from start to finish, in order to complete a successful identification, selection and hire. Answer inquiries from hiring managers and potential candidates about current vacancies.
  • Ensure proper due diligence is completed for new staff, including background and reference checks.

AmeriCorps Program Support (30%)

  • Recruit an on-going portfolio of AmeriCorps member positions, working with host sites across the US. This includes conducting recruitment intake calls, advising on recruitment strategies and advertising channels, researching and implementing innovative sourcing methods, extending offers and managing candidates through an ATS.
  • Work collaboratively with AmeriCorps program staff to resolve issues and effectively report on recruitment activities at assigned host sites.
  • Help develop and conduct AmeriCorps HR-related trainings.
  • Provide hands-on support with AmeriCorps onboarding, enrollment and other areas as needed.
  • Actively participate in program evaluations in order to improve Talent Acquisition service delivery specific to the AmeriCorps program.

Internship and Volunteer Program Support (10%)

  • Research, evaluate and nurture new and existing partnerships with organizations and schools to provide a pipeline of interns and volunteers to HFHI.
  • Develop and participate in evaluations of existing programs and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Track and report regularly on program data.
  • Liaise with other departments to educate and advise on staffing needs related to interns and volunteers.

Other (10%)

  • Participate in the on-boarding process for new staff, including conducting operational and new hire orientations, and other TA-led trainings as needed.
  • Assist with documenting and updating program-related processes for the TA team.
  • Assist with training TA team members as needed.
  • Support projects assigned to the TA team as needed.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3+ years of related experience, including program management or coordination, such as internships, externships, volunteers.
  • Experience facilitating trainings or orientations.
  • Demonstrated skills in recruitment; college recruitment experience desirable.
  • Experience developing and conducting trainings or presentations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with virtual teams.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft programs and internet capabilities.

Preferred:

  • National- and/or international-level recruitment experience desirable.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Habitat's structure, principles, history and methodology strongly preferred.
  • HR systems management experience preferred, especially BrassRing, Onboard Manager, PeopleSoft.
  • Experience with employee relations advantageous.
  • National Service/ AmeriCorps experience preferred.
